About Babenhausen

Babenhausen, the hometown of our company, is situated in Hessen, the financially most powerful federal state of Germany. Located near Frankfurt (35 km) the financial capital of Germany and Europe (Bundesbank, European Centralbank), Darmstadt (30 km) und Aschaffenburg (15 km), Babenhausen has an excellent economic and administrative connection to the Rhine-Main-Area (Frankfurt-International-Airport, connection to the Inter City Express (ICE) stations Frankfurt, Hanau, Aschaffenburg, near motorways A3 and A45, administration centre Darmstadt). The biggest companies of the town are Siemens / VDO and Optrex.

The approximately 17.000 inhabitans of Babenhausen live in the main town (10.000) and 5 other parts (Harreshausen, Langstadt, Hergershausen, Harpertshausen, Sickenhofen) with sports fields, community centers and kindergardens. In the center of the town you can find the big townhall and the school center (special school, primary school, comprehensive school, high school).

Since 1295 A.C. Babenhausen has had the right to call itself "town", and the town has a historical connection to the house of "Hanau-Lichtenberg". The partnership with the french town Bouxwiller in the departement "D´Alsace" is based on this connection.

One of the historical buildings ist the "City Wall" and the new restored "City Mill".

The landmark of the City is the midieval "Witch Tower".
A rarity is the large number of historical buildings from the Middle Age in the "Old City"
and a well preserved castle.
